Diabetes

Diabetes
 Introduction:

Diabetes is a disease rated by the levels of glucose in the blood. Diabetes happens because of low insulin or a very high rate in the body and sometimes both of them together which increases the possibility of having diabetes. Insulin is a hormone that converts sugar and other food into energy; the cause of diabetes can be based both on genetic and environmental factors such as obesity and bad exercise. Glucose is a type of sugar that is necessary for the body, because it feeds the cells, and can help the body to get more energy. The body can use glucose as a source of energy to function the body's cells; having the insulin hormone in the body controls the amount of glucose in the blood and converts it to energy.

Diabetes in the UAE:
9.2% of the adult population of the eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East suffer from diabetes, based on statistics from the International Diabetes Federation. And nearly 40% of the population of the UAE who are over the age of 60 years suffer from Type II diabetes."Diabetes is currently the fastest growing debilitating disease in the world. In the UAE it is estimated that one out of five people aged 20 to 79 lives with this disease, while a similar percentage of the population is at risk of developing it. This year, the UAE ranked 2nd highest worldwide for diabetes prevalence." said the director of ICLDC.  In 2006 the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre opened in Abu Dhabi ;ICLDC helps the diabetes  condition throughout the United Arab Emirates, which has the second highest prevalence of diabetes in the world.

Types of diabetes:

1. Type I:
Often affects children and younger people and that’s a result of a defect in the immune system or a viral inflammation of the pancreas gland unable to secrete the hormone insulin or secreted in very small amounts are not sufficient. In this case the patient assumes insulin injections to restore blood sugar to a normal level.

2. Type II:
Often affects adults over the age of thirty who have a great relation with obesity, and the genetic factor plays a big role in its occurrence. In this type no immunity in the insulin receptors on the surface of cells  prevents insulin from working normally, so it needs to take medication grain to help the pancreas to secrete more insulin.

3. Gestational diabetes:
Is a special type of diabetes which arises in some women during pregnancy. It usually fades after birth, does not mean that the child will be born with diabetes. And gestational diabetes arises because of hormonal changes during pregnancy which can change the body's ability to use the hormone insulin.

Causes of diabetes:

    -1 - Obesity.

    -2 - Genetic reasons.

-3 - diseases of the pancreas.

    -4 - Bad psychological state.

    General symptoms of diabetes:

    -1 - Excessive urination.

    -2 - Drowsiness.

    -3 - Sweating.

    Side effects:
Hardening of the arteries, gangrene; influences the sensory nerves and motor nerves.

Care required: You must control weight, pressure, blood sugar and urine and must follow the diet and visit your doctor regularly, and stop smoking.

The cure:
Diabetes can’t be cured ;however focus on the treatment can avoid problems for short or long terms, good nutrition, exerciser and monitoring blood levels.
In the case of diabetes, scientific studies have shown that over 50% of our immune system is in the colon.so a clean, well-functioning colon must be imperative for good health. Cleaning the colon must be done properly, using a program that allows you to maintain a stable blood sugar. The common approach of fasting with colon cleansing must be approached with great care if you have blood sugar issues.
